Celia Blakey Unit, William Harvey Hospital.

Chemo 4 done ✅

The half way mark! 🕺🏻

After having a set back last week from catching a cold my blood count dropped below the threshold, this really shook things up for me. While juggling working full time and trying to keep life as normal as possible I sometimes forget how much my body is taking a constant beating, making my immune system so low. I’m starting to notice more side effects as we go on, with this week tingly scalp, growing fatigue and ‘chemo fog’ getting worst by the day. 🤯

And so it’s been really hard having to make the decision to cancel every social event on the calendar, become a hermit and to pause Crossfit until I get to the end. It’s sh*t. It’s Cancer taking away the things that you enjoy doing and the people you love seeing.🖕🏻

But I have to remind myself of the bigger picture.

The stakes are high, with Christmas and a holiday both riding on it, the dates are so tight I can’t afford anymore pushbacks.

To add to the mix I had my 3rd Zoladex injection yesterday. The menopause is now in full swing with a million hot flushes a day plus a couple of other nice side effects. Fantastic. 💉🥵

But in positive news, my picc line is out, my port is healed and I can now jump back in the sea whenever I feel like it and enjoy a bubble bath again. I’ve spent Friday afternoon/evening laughing and sharing stories with my favourite chemo nurse while hitting the half way point!

Today’s a good day.

(Minus the nausea, let’s prey I can sleep it off)
