22nd April 2022 - Breast MRI Results

William Harvey Hospital

My heart sank as the screen lit up, as my surgeon scrolled around my scan all of these new tiny little white dots appeared. I couldn't believe what we were seeing. I turned to Rob speechless, in utter disbelief.

6 more lumps had been found.

It had never crossed my mind that there could be more?!

Here in black and white, it showed 2 on my left boob and now 5 on my right.

These new terrifying results put everything to an abrupt stop. No surgery date and no treatment plan, instead I was referred back for another ultrasound and for more biopsies to be taken.

4th May 2022

Back to the ultrasound department, Round 2

Back again, with a different sonnographer and a very different experience.

Quickly relieved to find out the lumps on my right boob were cysts, meaning no biopsies were needed.

Phewww.

But then all of the attention turned to my left boob. The side that had shown up 5 more lumps on my MRI. My gut instinct was instantly telling me that something didn't feel right when the nurse only took 1 biopsy. With no intentions on taking anymore I had to push her take another. After reluctantly agreeing, she then injected me with more anaesthetic before putting a tiny coil in to my boob to act as a clever little marker for the surgeon later down the line.

After this was finished I had a quick change into another sexy hospital gown for another mammogram.

This was awkward and uncomfortable, as the wounds weren't dressed before being squeezed into the machine.

My poor little boob had turned into a pin cushion.

Rushed out the door, I left that appointment with little faith that she had done enough and a strong niggling feeling that this wouldn't be my last time in here.
